RADAR: Ambrosia Parsley

It's been almost two years since we posted our last RADAR on Ambrosia Parsley, the former frontwoman for alt-pop band Shivaree -- and we're still waiting, patiently of course, for her longawaited, oft-delayed new studio album Weeping Cherry. The encouraging news is that the new project, her first release since the 2007 Shivaree covers album Tainted Love, is getting somthing of a preview with I Miss You. I Do., a new five-track EP that's being offered as a free download and inhabited, says Parsley, by "a bunch of beautiful ghosts and two young lives at their freshest." DC fave "The Other Side", a track with a vintage girl-group feel and some wonderfully raw guitar work from Chris Maxwell, leads the way. Stream "Whispering Pines" below. Note: "Goodnight Moon", a Shivaree track that found its way into Quentin Tarentino's Kill Bill 2, was recently reworked by Parsley with The Elegant Too (Chris Maxwell and Phil Hernandez) for the soundtrack to the Oscar-nominated film Silver Linings Playbook.
