Listen: John Hiatt - "We're Alright Now"

Any doubt that John Hiatt has gotten his serious groove back over the past few albums will be quickly dispelled with "We're Alright Now", a rootsy, rough-n-tumble new song from his forthcoming album Mystic Pinball (September 25, NewWest). This is the kind of soulful swamp rock that Hiatt's been known for over his long career (along with some signature wry balladry) and it would appear that he has no plans for letting up now. Thank God. Producer Kevin Shirley reprises his role from last year's Dirty Jeans and Mudslide Hymns.
