We previewed "Like It Never Happened" in "rough mix" form way back in January, noting that Elizabeth and The Catapult -- notably namesake Elizabeth Ziman -- had emerged from major label angst ready and eager to move on. You know, like it never happened. A little older and wiser, Ziman has completed the first of two indie 2014 projects with a new fan-funded full-length Like It Never Happened arriving January 21. (A second project with producer Richard Swift will street later in the new year.) Working again with original Catapulters and now co-producers Danny Molad and Pete Lalish, Ziman presents the LP's mastered title track pretty much as we heard it months back: a tasty swig of fizzy alt-pop effervescence with her signature piano lines nudging up against the insistent sound of an acoustic guitar, an instrument she took up a couple of years ago. Ziman and band take up a month-long residency at NYC's Lower East Side haunt The Rockwood Music Hall next month.
