Nick Lowe's most wonderful "Lately I've Let Things Slide" gets a nicely twanged out version from Caitlin Rose, a Nashville singer/songwriter who joins an interesting list of artist performing on the new tribute (and charity) album Lowe Country: The Songs of Nick Lowe (September 18, Fiesta Red). It's a mostly alt-country and Amercana focus for the British chap and razor sharp tunesmith who penned such classics as "What's So Funny (About Peace Love and Understanding)" (sadly a no show here), "Heart of the City" and "Crackin' Up". More on Lowe Country soon -- for now, enjoy the plaintive and unaffected vocals of Ms. Rose -- and maybe backtrack for her own fine Own Side Now and check out the track listing for the tribute below.
