Now we're talking. Or, rather, now we're speechless. "Waking Light" from Beck 's Morning Phase (February 25, Capitol) is said to be something of a "companion piece" to his 2002 album Sea Change and sure enough we're sensing that the wonderful "completeness" of that project -- the immaculate songs, the swooning production -- is again on display. "Waking Light" is kind of a mellow '70s Pink Floydian adventure, a lush "comfortably numb" experience that feels as warm and luxurious as a cashmere scarf.
