Eric Clapton - Slowhand (35th Anniversary Deluxe Edition)

Not only is Eric Clapton's classic 1977 album Slowhand his most popular solo studio album -- 3x platinum, 18 months on the charts and peaking at #2 for five weeks -- it is also his most cohesive, quintessential artistic statement of his many styles and influences. Blues, folk, rock, country and pop balladry were all in the mix of covers by the likes of J.J. Cale, John Martyn, Don Williams and Arthur Crudup and Clapton's own songs and co-writes. The new 35th Anniversary Deluxe (2-CDs) and Super Deluxe (4-disc & vinyl) Editions present the album's nine original tracks (including "Lay Down Sally", "Cocaine" and "Wonderful Tonight") along with four rare outtakes ("Alberta,” “Greyhound Bus”,“Stars, Strays and Ashtrays” and Gordon Lightfoot's "Looking At the Rain"). Also on tap are newly remixed tracks from one of Clapton's most heralded concerts, the April 27, 1977 performance at London's Hammersmith Odeon, with the Deluxe version getting nine selections on one CD and the Super Deluxe receiving the 14-track, 100-minute show on two discs.
