The Bear's Den bandwagon is heading out for the main road soon so if you want to get on, that time time is now. The London trio of Andrew Davie, Joey Haynes, and Kevin Jones have become quite the critical buzz across the pond with a deal with Communion Records (co-founded by Mumford's Son Ben Lovett), a much praised 2013 debut EP Agape, sold out shows in the U.K. and a prized opening slot on the recent Mumfords U.S. tour and now a new EP Without/Within arriving October 28 in the U.K. (U.S. TBA). While there's still the pub/folk and alt-country elements in the band's newest offerings, the trio is making some dramatic strides beyond the acoustic jangle (goodbye banjo?) and well into more progressive (sm)art/pop territory, particularly on the extended six-minute epic "Sahara," a brilliant track that doesn't really kick in til the 2:30 mark ("Part 2," we're guessing on the EP's track listing) -- and then it simply soars into something glorious and grand. Click through below to hear another excellent song: "Writing On The Wall." Did we mention the bandwagon's leaving?
