Listen: Sons of Fathers - 'Burning Days'

We first tipped you Texas natives David Beck and Paul Cauthen and their Sons of Fathers last year with the release of their eponymous debut album of Americana and Lone Star folk/rock. As the lead track off their upcoming August album Big Diamond Waltz, the Sons' new "Burning Days" ups the ante in a big way, further expanding the duo's original acoustic sound to the power and depth of a full-fledged band, helped in no small part by a rough-hewn mix (still unmastered) from Jack White studio dude Vance Powell (Blunderbuss, The Raconteurs). The trademark harmonies are still in abundance but "Burning Days" also swings with a loose, soulful swagger and sharper electric edge.
