British songwriter and singer Amy Holford isn't about the knockout punch, the big, dramatic song with the obvious killer hook. But the more subtle and subdued approach can be equally effective as she's proven on a handful of demos that lead the way for an official EP release later this year. Those fine folks at Communion (the music collective/ label co-founded by Mumford and Son's Ben Lovett) have already paid notice via their Newcastle branch and we're expecting that the anticipated fleshed-out studio recordings might be something special, particularly when you discover the richness of her vocals on songs like "Sunflower."
