Maeve O'Boyle is a twenty-three-year old Glasgow-born singer/songwriter who turned heads over a year ago with All My Sins, a sumptuous slice of folk/rock made even better with the production of Linn Studios house engineer Calum Malcolm (who oversaw the most famous of Linn Recodings, the first two albums from legendary Scottish band The Blue Nile). O'Boyle is preparing to start the follow up to Sins but recently released the aptly named Intermission, an acoustic EP of reworked songs from her Linn debut as well as a couple of covers, most notably Tom Waits' "Ol' 55". A song written about the passing of her grandfather, "Facing Home", also gets the stripped down treatment with the production of her voice truly a thing to behold -- things just don't get more up-close-and-personal than this.
