We've been fans of Aussie-to-Nashville transplant Miss Butterfly Boucher for a some years now, dating back to when we first laid dumbstruck eyes on the video for "Another White Dash" (sadly now M.I.A.) from her 2003 debut Flutterby. When she's not playing bass (and opening) for Sarah McLachlan, producing the upcoming Missy Higgins album or performing her own songs with the traveling Ten Out of Tenn songwriting troupe, Boucher has found a few minutes to record some new tracks since the release of her fine, oft-delayed Scary Fragile album in 2009. "Not Fooling Around Tonight" is one of those, a dreamy 80's-styled slice of Eurythmic-ky electropop (a lost Flashdance outtake?) with a devastating hook taken from the new Ten/Tenn collection longplayer (available at the TOoT site). Love the line: "I'm not trying to win you back, fine -- I'm trying to win you back"...
