RADAR: Rae Morris

Hailing from Blackpool, England, the piano-playing 18-year-old Rae Morris is blessed with a pretty impressive mop of oversized locks and a voice to match. Purveying expressive art/pop with some distinctive phrasing, Morris recently performed at the BBC Introducing Stage at the Reading Festival. We're particularly taken with "Day One", a heartfelt outpouring of longing, regret and reflection. Also of note: "Walls", seen in an interesting performance video after the jump. We think there's some room for growth in the songwriting but the raw talent is undeniable -- she's been known to bring an audience to tears with the sheer intensity of her live performance and a voice that grabs hold and doesn't let go.
