Daily Track: Lucie Silvas - "Roots"
Outside of some promising demos recorded over the past few years in Nashville, it's been a while since we've heard anything official from Brit singer/songwriter Lucie Silvas. That dry spell, the result of some stylistic soul searching after losing her record deal, is now coming to an end as we get word that Letters to Ghosts, her first new studio album since 2007 is coming this fall. Since her debut chart success in the U.K. and Europe, Silvas has been seen as more comfortable in the radio-friendly, mainstream piano pop world (thanks, in part to some self-inflicted glamour-puss imagery), but after checking out some recent demos and listening to her new song "Roots", we're thinking her new Letters may garner some long-overdue critical cred. A super track from what promises to be Lucie,s best album yet. She is just so terribly underrated. A fabulous voice and a great performer on stage
