Daily Video: Jackie Bristow - "Shot of Gold"

New Zealand rootsy folk/pop songwriter Jackie Bristow now makes the Mecca of alt-country and Americana (and lots more) -- Austin, Texas -- her unofficial second home after living there for a few years as a kiwi transplant. We caught her at SXSW a few years back and have followed her growth as a songwriter and singer with obvious talent, picking up her albums Crazy Love and Freedom. But we have to say we were taken aback when we found that Bristow's forthcoming project is a collaboration with instrumentalist/ producer and Dave Matthews bud Brady Blade (brother of drummer Brian) and some fine players including bassist Chris Thomas. Check out "Shot of Gold", recorded at the Blade Studios in New Orleans. Needless to say, we can't way to hear the finished work...
