Daily Track: Imogen Heap - "Lifeline"

It's a communal thing, we guess, this new Imogen Heap project. Always looking to connect with her adoring fan base, the Brit electropop songtress has released the first song from her long-running (one song every quarter) new project "Heapsong" which will eventually produce a full-length album in 2014. As we ponder if we'll still have the word 'album' in our vocabulary at that point, we can listen to "Lifeline" the rather cluttered and scratchy new track with an echoing piano that sounds vaguely familiar. No new ground being broken here -- in fact the song could easily be an outtake from her last couple of albums -- but it does, if nothing else, have that airy Heap appeal. Maybe she should unplug from the group hug networking and just, well, write.
