We don't think Gabe Dixon would mind if we described his forthcoming June 21 album One Spark as "mature." Along with the more adult look -- goodbye boyish chub, hello modest facial hair -- Dixon has taken the promise of his self-titled 2008 album and anted up the stakes big time. His trusty traveling band is gone for now, replaced in the studio with seasoned session pros (and guest shots from Alison Krauss and Starsailor's James Walsh). The promising lead single "My Favorite" is a rollicking blast of pop/rock pomp recalling the glorious stadium-sized sound of Billy and Elton.

Fantastic music. I have always loved Gabe's work and never understood why he isn't more of a national stand out, but I do enjoy having something so awesome more or less to myself (though I do tell everyone I know about his work!).
I have been aware of Gabe Dixon for about 3 years now and have been lucky enough to see him in concert twice at a small local venue. As Steve-O said, I am not sure why Gabe Dixon isn't more well-known. His lyrics are excellent and his keyboard playing is incredible. I can't wait for his next CD. Hopefully, it will bring Gabe some of the attention he truly deserves.
I discovered The Gabe Dixon Band about a year ago.I still play that album over and over. Can't wait for the new album to come out. And, with guest Alison Krauss!!!!!!Fantastic.
I first saw Gabe when he toured with Loggins and Messina. Bought his album right after the show. Glad to see a new one is soon coming. Even better, I'll get to see him perform once more at the Supertramp concert in Vancouver on June 1st. Made my day when I learned that today. :)
