We've been singing the praises of Emily West for a good five years now, an extraordinarily talented Nashville songwriter with a killer voice whose never-released major label debut was the poster child for label mismanagement and country radio malaise. Now free of the tractors, beers and tears mindset of the establishment Music City suits, West continues to write and record some fine new songs that range from the big belt vocal alt-country anthems reminiscent of early Linda Ronstadt ("Boys In the Morning") to adult (sm)art/pop with a twang ("What A Way to Fall", co-written with Madi Diaz) to stunning emotional ballads ("Gold").
