The atmospheric shoegaze of School of Seven Bells takes a turn to bright, glistening alt-pop on this decadent slice of plush, retro-80's throwback -- the celestial, chiming Cocteau Twins hymnal dusted off and reworked with a cool vocal hook the size of Brooklyn. Slimmed from a trio to a duo, guitarist/producer Benjamin Curtis and singer Alejandra Deheza upholster every available aural crevice of lead track "The Night" with silky electronica, reverbed guitar lines and Deheza's alluring vocals, sweet and sticky as warm honey. And did we mention this thing just moves? New conceptually themed album Ghostory materializes February 28 via Vagrant.
