The L.A. indie folk/popsters who go by the name Milo Greene would appear to have things going their way. A fall tour with fellow mellow acoustic harmonizers The Civil Wars, a new major label deal with Atlantic, a nod from tastemaker station KCRW and a growing and enthusiastic fan base all set the stage for a full length launch next spring. Greeners Robbie Arnett, Andrew Heringer and Marlana Sheetz began writing music in college and despite some distances later, still kept the tunes coming long distance. Demos emerged, members added and regrouped, tours undertaken, buzz, well, buzzed. Lead single "1957" has been garnering praise (and play) for its mix of Laurel Canyon folk and Fleetwood Mac-ian dual harmonies and spirited kick -- something the band calls "cinematic pop". We're holding out for better production -- these initial songs are pretty bare bones -- but based on the tools at hand and the obvious songwriting chops, we're looking forward to the debut longplayer.
