Watch: Lissie - '2000 Miles' (Pretenders Cover)

Lissie does Chrissie (Hynde, that is) in this "2000 Miles" makeover, a fine concert performance video and unreleased encore from Lissie's new 13-song DVD/CD Live at Shepherds Bush Empire filmed just before Christmas last year in London. We've said it before, we'll say it again: this is one of the most impressive new artists of the past five years, a mix of glam-free rough and tumble indie rock songwriting, seriously good guitar chops and an innately soulful earthiness. Few artists, male or female, can conjure this combination of ferocious in-the-moment intensity with the loose, natural and unforced on-stage charisma that Lissie brings to her live shows.
