RADAR: Clare Bowditch

Clare Bowditch's 2011 EP Are You Ready Yet has served as something of a career placeholder, putting the Aussie singer/songwriter back in solo mode again after 2010's electro-poppy Modern Day Addiction with her band The New Slang. Ready boasted a couple new songs, reworkings of older titles and a pair of a capella renderings, but it was the seven-minute title track that really turned heads, a sprawling prog-pop masterpiece of epic proportions that recently premiered as an interesting new video (watch below). Bowditch, who won an Aria in 2008 for Best Female Artist, played SXSW this past year and was chosen to open for Leonard Cohen on his Australian tour in 2010, appears primed for bold new steps.
