Listen: Gretchen Peters - "Dark Angel"

"Dark Angel", a fine new duet with Nashville legend Rodney Crowell, offers a sneak peak at Hello Cruel World, the forthcoming January 31 album from singer/songwriter Gretchen Peters. Starting out as a folk/pop performer in Boulder, Colorado, Peters has turned out big hits for others (including the Grammy-winning "Independence Day") as well as a series of exquisite solo albums including her 2007 masterpiece Burnt Toast and Offerings. “I never had any aspirations of being a writer for other artists. I want to be understood for who I am," says Peters, a desire that comes into stark focus in World's biographical tone.
