Tasty, buoyant folk/pop dominates the musical menu from Emily Hearn, a 21-year-old singer/songwriter from Athens, GA whose debut album Red Balloon is on track for a January 2012 release. We literally listen to dozens of new, aspiring female performers every month looking to follow in the tracks of success stories like Sara Bareilles, Ingrid Michaelson, Regina Spektor and Alison Sudol of A Fine Frenzy, and we can attest that Hearn's own particular brand of melodic pop rises above the estrogen-fueled (sm)art/pop fray. "Fall", the best of what we've heard so far, is a prime example of how exceptional production can take a great song from acoustic beginnings to a vibrant new level. Check out the video for "Rooftop" after jump, featuring a nonplussed Bill Murray keeping the street beat.
