There's so much to love and admire about this amazing video it's hard to know where to start. Filmed at an abandoned (and chilly) office building in Lower Manhattan, singer, songwriter and accomplished claw hammer banjo player Abigail Washburn is surrounded by a bevy of NY string and brass players (all adorned in winter wear) and stripped Americana folk meets chamber music. The production from Mason Jar Music is superb and the playing is inspired and goose-bump-raising (get the headphones out for this one). Artists who post crappy sounding, cell-phone-shot videos on their sites, take note: this is how you make a performance video. More DC on Abigail and her fine City of Refuge album here and here.
