Daily Track: Easter Island - "Proud"

Easter Island clearly has more in common with Brits Coldplay and Snow Patrol than their fellow Athens, GA stalwarts R.E.M. on "Proud", the arena-ready lead track from the band's five-song EP Better Things arriving March 1. We don't know if the band takes their name from early R.E.M. producer (and local all-round-cool-music-dude) Mitch Easter, but beneath the dirge of clanging, staccato guitar riffs is a classic power pop melody that would make Easter smile just the same. Turn it up, please.
