Long a staple of Laura Marling's live set, Neil Young's "The Needle and the Damage Done" was also one of the first songs she played when just starting out, long before she became one of the leading lights of the U.K. neo-folk movement of the past few years. The song was recently recorded as one side of a 7" single overseen by the ever busy Jack White during Marling's tour stop in Nashville (the flip of the single is Jackson C. Franks' 1965 gem "Blues Run the Game" -- stream after the jump). Then when we saw this video -- we knew we had to share. More on Marling's brilliant I Speak Because I Can album on DC here.
