Daily Track: Herbie Hancock with Pink and John Legend - "Don't Give Up"

Peter Gabriel's "Don't Give Up" has become something of a standard, the original version (featuring a Kate Bush duet) still our favorite over the countless remakes, most notably the 2005 Bono/Alicia Keys take for a World Aids Day fundraiser. (There's even a tepid, mis-directed version recorded with Midway State and one Lady Gaga last year.) For his new June 22 collaborative concept album The Imagine Project, Herbie Hancock offers his own version with vocals from John Legend and Pink. As with all Hancock works, this one is exceedingly tasteful and lovingly produced -- but Pink is the real surprise here. Imagine that.
