Daily Video: Theresa Andersson - Oh Mary Don't You Weep (Live)

The Civil War-era folk song "Oh Mary Don't You Weep" becomes a multi-layered virtuoso workout in the hands of New Orleans-based performing songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Theresa Andersson. Building sonic strata of looped violin plucks and rhythms, the song epitomizes Andersson's remarkable DIY on-stage persona and the intersection of her own imaginative songwriting and vintage Americana country and blues. "Oh Mary" is taken from her recent self-released Live at Le Petit DVD (featuring guest Allen Toussaint), her first new project since 2008's breakout album Hummingbird, Go!.
