Daily Track: Dido and A. R. Rahman - "If I Rise"

"If I Rise" violates a basic DC law for a great pop song -- a children's chorus that swells about 2/3 of the way through. Maybe it's just the season, but we're going to give the new song from Didoand soundtrack scorer A.R. Rahmana pass on that infraction. The restrained elation that emanates from "If I Rise", featured in the praised Danny Boyle flick 127 Hours, is ideal for a cold winter's day. And it helps pass the time as we await the 2011 return of Dido with a new album produced by brother (and Faithless founder) Rollo. "I had read the book of the film (very inspiring) and am a big Danny Boyle fan who loves working with A. R. Rahman," says Dido, "so I was really up for it. We wrote if 'If I Rise' and we both sing on it."  Retrack: listen to her 2010 summertime dance track "Everything to Lose" here.
