Daily Track: Cory Chisel - "So Wrong For Me"

Cory Chisel's major label debut album Death Won't Send A Letter was an '09 Top 5 favorite here at DC, one that we described as  "perhaps the finest album by a newcomer this year...music that touches the soul and raises a few hairs on the back of the neck at the same time." Chisel and his band The Wandering Sons played the Newport Folk Festival this past summer (broadcastby our friends at NPR) and as we took a belated listen we found us marveling once again at "So Wrong For Me", a song that  simply sums up why Chisel deserves to be given a hell of a lot more recognition than he's received thus far. Brilliant, powerful stuff. Listen to the live and studio versions:
