Daily Video: DM Stith - BMB

DM (David Michael) Stith's haunting, other-worldly debut album Heavy Ghosts, released earlier this year by Asthmatic Kitty, contained some of the most mesmerizing, uniquely left-of-center music we've heard in ages, described by his label as "folk songs with epic electronic gestures". Orchestration that veers from soothing to dissonant forms the backdrop for Stith's dream-state vocal melodies on "BMB" (Be My Baby) presented here in mindblowing video and an alternate audio take (released this summer as part of an expanded EP). A third EP of reworkings and remixes of songs from Heavy Ghosts arrives December 8 with Braid of Voices. Said Natasha Khan (AKA Bat for Lashes) in a shout-out in the NY Times, "“It traverses all these magical landscapes… almost like Alice through the looking glass. Like you’re being sucked into a secret world." "a swirling mass of atmospheric melodies and instrumentation.” - Entertainment Weekly
