Daily Track: John Mayer - Who Says

Taken from his forthcoming November 17 album Battle Studies, "Who Says" is one of those supremely casual, oh-so-tongue-in-cheek moments of irony from John Mayer that hits us as all slack and no real bite. Singing about getting stoned. "faking love for an hour or so" with an old girlfriend and ending with the classic line "I don't remember you looking any better, nut then again I don't remember you," we're not sure if this simple James Taylor-ish little dittie is supposed to throw us off guard or simply just lower the public's expectations for what's to come. But we also know that there's significantly more substantial fare to come on Battle Studies so we'll just let this one slide for now.
