    Daily Track: Astrid Williamson - Run

    Thinking of Snow Patrol reminded us of "Run", the Brit megahit that started it all in '03 and a song that is something of a classic, covered last year (nicely, we may add) by Leona Lewis. But our favorite version is from fellow Scotlander (by way of the Shetland Islands) Astrid Williamson: a magnificent, spacious read that falls somewhere between atmospheric ballad and towering anthem. With a voice that's sounds like it's been steeped overnight in a vat comprised of equal measures of cigarettes, whiskey and tears, Williamson digs to the core of "Run" in a way that reveals something totally new about the song.
