Norah Jones' Twangy Puss N Boots Set 'No Fools, No Fun' July 15 Debut

Puss N Boots, the countrified female trio of Norah Jones, Sasha Dobson and Catherine Popper, will release their debut album No Fools, No Fun on July 15. The album will arrive following a string of showcase performances this spring and summer including The Newport Folk Festival. Coming on the heels of Foreverly, Jones' recent tribute to the Everly Brothers with Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong, the album will be released by her longtime label Blue Note.

Puss N Boots originated six years ago in the clubs of New York's Lower East Side and Brooklyn where Jones, fellow songwriter Dobson and bassist/vocalist Catherine Popper (late of Grace Potter's Nocturnals) would get together to have fun covering classic country, folk and rockabilly standards under the moniker of Dixie Fried. Check out Dobson's 2013 Aquarius solo album at DC here.

Details on the tracklisting have not been revealed but we're betting a good contender for the project might be "Bull Rider," a track that Jones and Dobson recorded together. The song, written for Johnny Cash by his former son-in-law Rodney Crowell, appeared on Jones' 2010 compilation Featuring Norah Jones. Listen below.

The band recently posted a photo (below) that is said to be from the album's photo shoot.
