North Mississippi Allstars Announce 'World Boogie Is Coming' 9/3; Watch EPK

Acclaimed roots band North Mississippi Allstars pay homage to legendary songwriters like RL Burnside and Junior Kimbrough on their new album World Boogie Is Coming arriving September 3. The self-produced album is said to be a "return to the band's blues-infused rock & roll roots" and was recorded at the band's own Zebra Ranch Studios in Hernando, Mississippi. Sitting in on the sessions are longtime friends Duwayne and Gary Burnside, Kenny Brown, Alvin Youngblood Hart, Sharde Thomas (Otha Turner's granddaughter), Chris Chew, Steve Selvidge and Lightnin' Malcolm.

"The whole concept of the album is almost like a soundtrack," says Allstar Luther Dickinson. "We have four videos and the trailer, and that is what inspires the record more than anything. My brother really got into making these films about our life, our home, our music and life on the road. … For me, it was really great to just go to the range and play and sang. My performances are really raw and from the hip."
