Camera Obscura: 'Desire Lines' Due June 4; Neko Case, Jim James Guest

Scotland's acclaimed Camera Obscura have announced the release of their long-awaited new album Desire Lines for June 4 via 4AD. The album, featuring guest appearances from Jim James and Neko Case, was recorded in Portland with Grammy-nominated producer Tucker Martine (Decemberists, Tift Merritt, Beth Orton) and is the band's first album in nearly four years, following up their well-received My Maudlin Career. Camera Obscura will premiere tracks from the new project at a series of concerts at the upcoming SXSW in Austin.

Tracyanne Campbell from the band, “Of all our records this was pretty much the most challenging to write, partly because of the situation we found ourselves in with having to take such a long and uncertain amount of time out, but also because it would be record number five and we were getting harder and harder to please. Working in the US with southern gentleman Tucker Martine was a positive experience. He brought a certain calmness to recording that wasn’t there before.  We were also delighted to have Neko Case and Jim James sing on the record too. What a treat."
