Elvis Costello and The Roots are in the process of wrapping up a new album together according to BILLBOARD magazine. Costello has worked with the famed Philly R+B/hip-hop band before during appearances on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, the show featuring The Roots as house band. "It was really love at first sight," says The Roots' "Questlove" Thompson of Costello's appearances on the show. "The second time he came on, we surpassed the first one. So by the third time, he was like, 'Let's stop messing around and do something together.'" The result is an as-yet-untitled project that still needs to be mixed and mastered but, says Thompson, they've narrowed down the nearly 20 songs recorded to about a dozen of the best songs: "I can just say that it is brilliant."
