Radiohead mainman Thom Yorke's new side project Atoms For Peace will release their debut album AMOK in early 2013 according to an interview with Yorke in Rolling Stone. Atoms For Peace includes Yorke, drummer Joey Waronker, Radiohead co-producer Nigel Godrich, Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea and percussionist Mauro Refosco. Says Yorke: One of the things we were most excited about was ending up with a record where you weren't quite sure where the human starts and the machine ends."
Earlier Yorke had discussed the band's approach: "We got a big buzz from them and discovered loads of energy from transforming the music from electronic to live, and so afterwards, we carried on for a few days in the studio and decided to make it a loose, on-going thing. Immersed in the area between the two…electronic and live."
