'Crazy Hearts' Jeff Bridges, T-Bone Burnett Re-Team For August Album

Crazy Heart star -- and ever-abidin' Dude -- Jeff Bridges will again burnish his newfound alt-country music cred with the release of a new solo album set for August 23 via Blue Note/EMI. The new project is being produced by T-Bone Burnett, the man behind the Crazy Heart film soundtrack as well as many recent high-profile albums including Raising Sand from Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, the 2010 Elton John/Leon Russell collaboration and the latest works from Gregg Allman and John Mellencamp.

The Bridges album, as yet untitled, will also feature songwriters and band members involved with the Crazy Heart soundtrack. Bridges recently hinted that he'd like to have Elton John perform on the new project -- the two  performed together at an L.A. Crazy Heart party -- but any notable guests or final tracks for Bridges' album have not been confirmed.
