British rock icons Rod Stewart and Jeff Beck are said to be reuniting for a new studio album and brief world tour. Though the two have partnered over the years on a few selected collatborative one-offs, this is the first time the pair have released an album together since Stewart sang on Beck's Beck-Ola album in 1969.
"I cut some tracks and sent them to Rod, and I'm still waiting for a response," Beck told USA Today.com. "Some are originals, and we’ve got great covers, too. It’s sort of Chapter 2 of Beck-Ola. So yeah, ball’s in your court, matey." Stewart's manager Arnold Stiefel remarked, "they have some really clever things planned." For the first time since 1998 Stewart will take up songwriting, and "it's mind-fucking stuff", Stiefel adds.
Stewart is also busy preparing his live show for a series of co-headlining dates this spring and summer with Stevie Nicks.
