Mackintosh Braun - Where We Are - September 21 - Atlantic - Shimmering electro-pop smooshes up 80's-era Buggles/Howard Jones, Imogen Heap's vocal synth, a less annoying Owl City and a dash of Jeff Lynne/ELO sweep. Portland duo Ian Mackintosh and Ben Braun keep it cool whip light and almost as sucrose-laden but the songs on their second album reveal a flair for solid melodies.
