Goldfrapp - Head First

It would appear that Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory -- also known as Goldfrapp -- have come in from the woodsy U.K. countryside that was the setting for their serene 2007 album Seventh Tree and settled in the midst of a slightly livelier, more upbeat club scene. New album Head First, arriving March 23 on Mute, is said to be a return to the duo's dancefloor electronica/pop with the thumping new single "Rocket Boy" leading the way March 8.

We're hoping that just a bit of the lush and dreamy folk/pop sounds of their wonderful Tree -- which sold about 60k copies in the states -- permeate at least some of the forthcoming project. Perhaps it was those modest sales numbers that pushed the band back to their more radio-friendly sound, but we loved the whole feel of Seventh Tree.

Fans of Goldfrapp will also want to check out the movie Nowhere Boy, a bio-pic on the early teen life of one Mr. John Lennon, with Alison and Will penning the score to the movie. Stay tuned for more updates and some music from Head First as soon as we're able to post them...
